This past Memorial Day weekend, the Wisconsin Modified Nationals were canceled due to weather on Thursday and Friday but Jeremy Nelson was able to compete at the Minnesota Modified Nationals at Ogilvie Raceway on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, there were 25 Modifieds on hand. They started 4th in the heat and won. This put them 1st in overall passing points which put them on the pole for the feature. At the drop of the green Jeremy began to battle for the lead in the early stages of the race, before they eventually lost that battle and found themselves in 2nd. After a few late cautions they were able to make a run at the lead but they were unable to capitalize and had to settle for the runner up position.
On Sunday, there were again 25 Modifieds in attendance. Jeremy started 3rd and finished 3rd in the heat, the track was very difficult to pass on. This put them 10th in passing points. The feature did not last long for them as they battled ignition issues at the start of the race and had to pull in after a couple of laps. This was was very disappointing as they knew they had a car that could have taken them to the front.
This next weekend they head to I-94 Sure Step Speedway for the annual Dick Johanneck King of Dirt in hopes to win it for the 4th time in the last 5 years!
