This past weekend Jeremy raced Friday at Mississippi Thunder Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday. He went into the weekend with trying something more “standard” for his car setup to try to get his car more consistent so the weekend was a good test session for him.
Friday, there were 21 USRA Modifieds in attendance for the K-Town Klash. Jeremy started 6th and finished 6th in his heat. Started 16th in the feature and after a handful of laps he finally figured out how to drive the car with the new setup and he started to pick some cars off and worked his way up to a 9th place finish.
Saturday there were 25 Modifieds. Jeremy started 3rd in his heat and finished 2nd. He made the redraw and redrew 10/12 so he started 10th, with a lot of fast cars, the majority USMTS drivers, starting in front of him. At the start of the race he got into 8th after the first few laps. Jeremy ran down the 7th place runner and passed him at the halfway point. The next group, 2nd thru 6th, was over a straight-away away from him and he was able to run them down before the end of the race but just ran out of time. He needs about 5-10 more laps or just a caution.
Jeremy was very happy with how the weekend went. After trying something new on the car for him, he had a lot of speed and he has a lot of confidence going into his next race weekend. Jeremy will be taking the next weekend off but the following week he will be back at it with the USMTS. Friday, 8/11, he will be at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS for the $20k to win, $1k to start Grant Junghans Memorial and Saturday at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, MO for $10k to win.
