This past weekend we raced at I-94 Sure Step Speedway on Friday and Viking Speedway on Saturday for the Fallen Lineman Memorial race.
On Friday, there were 21 modified race cars on hand. Our poor drawing continued drawing so we had to start 5th place in the heat. The track in the heat was not racey at all and we finished 5th. This gave us a 13th starting position for the feature. We got involved in a pile-up on the first lap which luckily only caused body damage so we were able to continue. The car was pretty good and we were able to move up to a 6th place finish.
On Saturday there were 30 modified on hand and we finally had a good draw and started on the pole for the heat. Unfortunately, we slightly missed the setup and ended up finishing 3rd. This gave us a 10th place starting position for the feature and not a single thing went our way
. The track was very bottom dominate the first few laps and starting on the outside, we got freight trained and fell back to 14th. But after that, we were able to start moving forward and got up to 10th before a caution came out. This time, the top was the place to be and we had to restart on the bottom and lost a couple of spots but we able to move back up to 8th before the track rubbered up with about 10 laps to go so we had to settle for 8th. Overall, we showed some speed in the feature but just didn’t have anything go our way.
This weekend we are heading to Gondik Law Speedway for the Northern Nationals which features 2 complete shows on Friday and Saturday.
