This past weekend we competed at the Great Lakes Border Battle. On Thursday there were 34 Modifieds on hand. We started 1st and finished 1st in the heat. This put us 6th in overall passing points so that is where we started for the feature. We fell back a few spots on the start of the feature but we were able to work our way back up to 6th, ran down the leaders but ran out of time and had to settle for 6th.
Friday was an eventful night. There were 38 Modifieds on hand. We started 2nd in our heat and lost fuel pressure on the first lap so we had to pull in. We scrambled trying to get it fixed for the B main but failed to get it fixed in time, luckily we received a provisional from the night before. This put us in dead last for the start, 25th. By the end of the race, we were able to work our way up to 15th. After the feature, we were for some reason called down to the tech area. They wanted us to strip down our rear end so that they could check a couple of things. We asked them if we could do this at our pit where we had all of our tools and proper lighting as it was dark and it was going to be at least a 2-hour job. The tech official said we had to do it there but we decided not to because we were not going to do it in the dark and have the possibility of losing parts. So since we only finished 15th, we decided to just take the DQ to not have to deal with it. With how the night ended and how we were treated, we decided to pack up and head home and not race on Saturday.
This weekend we plan to be at I-94 Sure Step Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Friday and then Ogilvie Raceway on Saturday.
