This past weekend started out at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI on Friday night. There were 24 Wissota Modifieds on hand. We once again drew a good number and started on the pole of our heat. We had a very bad start and fell back to 4th place but were able to move back up to 3rd place to make the redraw for the feature, where we redrew the pole. We took off right away in the feature and lead the first 5 laps before the handling of the car started to go away. We ended up losing a couple of positions during the race but we were still able to hold on for the 3rd place finish. This was another good night for us with the new car as we are still learning more about it and are happy with how fast it has been to start the season. We just need to make a few more tweaks to it and then we will start seeing some wins.
On Saturday we made the trip over to Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, WI. There were only 12 Modifieds on hand. Our drawing luck had run out and had to start tail end in our heat (6th). The track was very rough and our car was not set up for it so we just made laps, trying not to wreck anything and finished 5th. We started 9th in the feature and after making a couple of changes to the car, it was much better and so was the track. After a slow start, we were able to start moving up and got into 4th with about 10 laps to go. We ran down the 2nd and 3rd place runners but just ran out of time so we had to settle for 4th.
This next weekend we will be headed to Gondik Law Speedway once again for their doubleheader they are having Thursday and Friday. As for Saturday, the plans are up in the air but we will either go to Rice Lake Speedway or Cedar Lake Speedway.
