On Thursday, there were 29 Wissota Modifieds on hand. We started 1st and finished 2nd in the heat. This put us 7th in passing points so that is where we started in the feature. In the feature, we backed it up to 10th the first 10 laps but we were able to work our way back to the front and finished 3rd. It was definitely a satisfying finish and we learned a few things about the new car.
Friday, there were 32 cars on hand. We won the heat from the pole which put us 5th in passing points. On the first lap of the feature, we got spun and we had to go to the back. But we rallied back to a 9th place finish. If a couple of cautions would have gone our way, we could have had a top 5 finish.
All in all, it was a pretty good weekend. The car is in one piece and we were able to learn a lot about this new car.
This upcoming weekend we plan on making our return to Wisconsin to race in Superior on Friday and Saturday in Rice Lake (if they open). If they do not open Saturday, I am guessing we will either go to Ashland or Cedar Lake. We will know more by the end of the week, so stay tuned to our racing page for updates.
