This past weekend we raced on Saturday at Ogilvie Raceway where there were 20 Modifieds on hand. We started 3rd in the heat and won. For the feature, we started 7th and worked our way up to 5th a few laps into the race when the caution came out. For some reason, we were put back to 6th and on the restart we got boxed in and ended up losing a couple of positions. Nonetheless, we were able to work our way back forward and got into 4th with 10 laps to go, where we were setting the quickest lap times. The driver, knowing we were fast, was doing all he could to make up ground to catch the leaders but with 6 laps to go he made a mistake and ended up spinning and had to go to the tail. After going back to 20th, we were able to salvage a 10th place finish.
All in all we had the fastest car. If we would have had a couple of things go our way in the feature, we would have found victory lane for the second week in a row. We a very happy with how the car is right now as we are starting to head into the invitational season.
Next weekend we may be taking Friday off to get ready for Saturday as we will be racing at Cedar Lake Speedway for their $5,000 to win special. There should be a lot of cars there and we believe we have a great shot and winning this event.
