This past weekend Jeremy Nelson raced at Ogilvie Raceway on Saturday. There were 25 Modifieds on hand. They started 5th in their heat and ended up winning by well over a straight-away. This put them in the 5th starting position for the feature. When the race began, they wasted no time and began to move forward and found themselves in 2nd at about the halfway point. As they were passing for the lead, the caution came out. On the restart, the leader decided to block their lane causing them both to get passed on the restart which caused them to fall back to 3rd. A lap later they moved back into second and began to run down the leader but fell a lap short as they crossed the finish line in 2nd, a half a car length short.
Their car was absolutely fantastic and they definitely had the car to beat. If either that caution never came out or had another lap or two, they would have been in victory lane.
Next weekend Jeremy will tentatively be at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI on Friday and Ogilvie Raceway on Saturday. This is their last weekend of regular racing before they go into a full season of special events!
