This past weekend Jeremy competed with the United States Modified Touring Series on Friday and Saturday.
Friday was the Grant Junghans Memorial at Lakeside Speedway. There were 47 Modifieds in attendance. Jeremy qualified 6th in his group out of 9. In the heat, he went 6th to 5th, just a few inches short of 4th. He had to run a B main where he went 6th to 5th which transferred him into the feature event where he started 21st. In the feature, Jeremy got rolling right away and started moving up and found himself battling for 15th just short of the halfway point into the race but at this time, his tires were completely shot. The track was way harder on tires than he anticipated. Jeremy had to settle for 16th.
Saturday he raced at I-70 Speedway where there were 32 Modifieds. Jeremy qualified 6th in his group once again which put him in the 6th starting spot for his heat. He was able to move up to 4th in the heat and just missed transferring directly into the feature. In the B main he went 1st to 2nd, which gave him a 16th starting position for the main event. Jeremy once again started moving forward at the drop of the green but everything got strung out when he was running in 14th. After a late caution, Jeremy chose an incorrect line on the restart and he lost a position but he was able to recover and get by 2 more cars and finish 13th.
Overall it was a pretty successful weekend. Jeremy got some more experience racing with the best in the country and got to race at 2 new tracks. This next weekend the team plans on racing at Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Friday and Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday.
