Elias Ishoel First Four Time Pro Winner Of 2023!

For Immediate Release

Clear Lake, MN (March 6, 2023) – Elias Ishoel became the Pro class’s first four time winner after sweeping the weekend in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Race fans at the legendary Huset’s Speedway were treated to one of Ishoel’s most impressive performances of the season, which included a runaway win on Friday night and a late race move to the front on Saturday.

In Saturday’s round 10 final, Ishoel pressured early race leader Adam Peterson while also having to defend a challenge of his own from rival Hunter Patenaude. When Peterson made a small mistake on the track’s back section, both Ishoel and Patenaude raced by with Elias going on to win by just under two seconds.

Marcus Ogemar continued his mid-season charge in the Pro Lite ranks. Ogemar qualified well all weekend going 2-2 and 2-3 in rounds nine and 10 and raced to another podium finish in third on Friday night.

On Saturday, Marcus raced from ninth to fourth in the opening laps of the main event before having a crash that relegated him to last place. Not to be deterred, Marcus carried on and was able to get back to a top 10 finish, despite still nursing an ankle injury.

Emeric Legendre had a similar night on Saturday. After a solid eighth place finish on Friday, Legendre was going forward again in round 10 only to come off his sled midway through the final. Emeric was also able to bounce back and gain a few places finishing 11th. While the main event results don’t tell the whole story, Legendre continues to develop as a Pro Lite racer and did collect a heat race win.

It was a tale of two very different days for Sport class points leader Crayden Dillon. After going 1-1 in Friday qualifying, Dillon was involved in a crash at the start of the main event that caught out several of the heavy-hitters in the class. Crayden was able to get restarted and was working his way well up the ladder from 14th to eighth when the race was red flagged and called official while two track workers had to be attended to.

Saturday was a more typical run for Dillon as he moved to the lead on lap one and never looked back.

This will be a short week at the shop as team prepares to go back to their home practice track at ERX Motor park in Elk River, Minnesota on March 10-11. This unusual return visit will mark a new twist with a triple crown format on Friday night that will award points in each of the three rounds. Saturday’s format will be a traditional two heat race/main event program
